There are many needs for construction work. These often include laying block, shoveling, pouring cement, laying foundations, etc. Please contact us and set up a much needed construction project.
Evangelism
We believe that all types of service have built-in opportunities for evangelism. But travelers looking for more focused evangelism experiences can visit Haitian homes door-to-door in both remote and more urban settings to share the Gospel directly.
VBS and Camp Programs
Groups can choose to put on VBS programs for youth and children. These can be taught in any one of the communities we serve. Please prepare everything for such activities before arriving in Haiti.
Medical and Surgical
We can always use doctors, nurses, and anyone who is interested in medical work. Many medical teams travel with AFH every year. Teams travel to one of the dozens of locations of our ongoing remote medical ministry and also minister at a base clinic in southern Haiti.
Community Needs Assessment / Census
Conducting needs assessments of the communities we serve throughout Haiti is a great way to volunteer. These assessments help us identify what specific needs a community has and how we can help meet them. They also tell us a lot about the people who live in those communities and can be a great door for relationships and evangelism.
Preaching and Pastor Training
With multiple partner churches AFH offers multiple for preaching and assisting in teaching in Pastor Training sessions. Multiple times a year, large pastor training sessions are held. Here hundreds of pastors from remote areas of the country come and receive some of the only biblical training they have ever received.
Community Development Seminars
We have had some rewarding success in leading development seminars and classes with community members. Seminars can include agriculture, gardening projects, nutrition, training in sewing and other handicrafts, CPR, first aid, womens health and hygiene. Seminars may be aimed at men, women, youth, or other groups. Be sure to prepare all your materials before you travel, and expect to bring in your own supplies.
Dentistry
Dental teams come with AFH outreach trips also. People interested in assisting with dental teams should contact us to set up a time and appropriate area of the country to minister to.
