Individuals in the prime of their lives, living in rural regions of Haiti, often suffer needlessly for years with a curable disease without safe surgical facilities available.
Often, due to lack of funds and the lack of an surgical hospital facilities, people living in remote areas of Haiti will suffer for many years with an curable malady. These individuals are often in the prime of their lives and are the economic backbone of the family. Without their ability to earn wages, many families struggle to stay together and feed their families because of these issues.
Through our medical work in remote regions we identify individuals suffering from chronic physical problems that could be treated surgically. If there is no other medical facility nearby, in conjunction with local community leaders we select candidates for surgery. These individuals then travel to a hospital in the south of Haiti where skilled surgical teams provide life changing care.
Each patient is prayed for, and with, before the operation to better understand that true healing comes note from human hands, but from the cross of Jesus Christ.
